Krista and Isaac - going with 4 more members of their family on Sabbatical to Paris!
Krista, I just loved working for you. YOU totally got what this was all about AND
my heart!
Well four days have passed and I have been faced
with four completely different tasks. Yesterday's task took me by surprise a
little, but in the bigger picture, it was my goal that mattered most to me.
This woman got it 'bang on the nose', so I felt great joy in being able to
serve in the way I did.
The WHOLE idea of this month is to serve
others. To let women around me know that
they are loved and cared for. That there
IS someone out there who will give them time and appreciation whether they are
in their p.j.’s and curlers or in their best dress. That they are individually perfect, precious
and priceless. When I got to Krista’s
house – she was already ahead of the game.
On my arrival, Krista was thankful that I had
arrived. She asked me to watch her
lovely lad and do the vacuuming upstairs and downstairs, whilst she visited the
lady across the road to help her do a load of laundry. I stood stunned and instinctively wanted to
protest that I wanted to spend time with her.
BUT, I couldn’t stop the smile that kept wiggling over my face, because the
truth is and was that THAT, is actually what the month is about. Krista had beaten me to it! She wanted to serve someone so badly, but
needed to be free to be able to do that.
I got to serve someone, by allowing her to serve someone else. She wins the prize this project!!! ;) I am SO blessed that Krista allowed me to serve
her the way I did.
Krista, you have such an incredible servant's heart. I SIMPLY LOVE LEARNING FROM YOU! You are a shining example of who we need to be in life. I will miss you as you go off to France on Furlough for this next year. I can’t wait to have you come back and tell us all about your adventures. We will miss you!
